Job Description:
The Youth Justice Officer works with young people involved in, or at risk of entering, the youth justice system. The role involves assessing risks and needs, managing cases, and delivering tailored interventions to reduce offending, improve wellbeing, and support engagement with education, training, and the community. The officer works closely with families, courts, and partner agencies to safeguard young people and promote positive outcomes.
Key Duties:

Manage a caseload of young people, assessing risks, needs, and welfare.

Develop and deliver personalised interventions, both individually and in groups.

Collaborate with families and partner agencies, including schools, police, and social services.

Prepare reports and provide advice for Youth and Crown Courts.

Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with safeguarding, data protection, and youth justice standards.

Attend professional meetings, child protection conferences, and court hearings as required.

Adopt a restorative, strengths-based approach to engage young people and repair harm.
