Role Overview:
As a Placements Officer, you will coordinate the identification and placement of children and young people in suitable services. You’ll collaborate with professionals, provide advice, and ensure placements meet individual needs in line with child care legislation and best practices.
Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate and arrange placements for children and young people, ensuring the best match.

Provide professional advice to referrers and ensure compliance with child care legislation.

Maintain accurate records and reports using IT systems and databases.

Participate in case planning and reviews, and engage with partners to promote effective service delivery.

Support the Senior Children’s Placements Worker as needed.
Essential Criteria:

Qualifications: GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent), NVQ Level 3 in Caring for Children & Young People (or equivalent).

Experience: Experience in social work, fostering, or child care settings; customer service experience; using IT systems.

Skills: Strong communication, ability to work independently and as part of a team, understanding of child development and relevant legislation, and effective negotiation skills.
