Children’s Social Worker – Children with Disabilities Service

The Role
As a Children’s Social Worker within our Children with Disabilities Service, you will play a key role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. You will work closely with families, carers, and multi-agency partners to assess needs, develop care plans, and provide ongoing support.
This is a “through-service” role, meaning you will support children from initial assessment through to ongoing plans, including Child in Need, Child Protection, and Children in Care.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake assessments of children and families to identify needs and risks
- Develop, implement, and review care and support plans
- Safeguard children and promote their welfare at all times
- Work collaboratively with partner agencies including health, education, and police
- Build strong, supportive relationships with children, families, and carers
About the Team
You will join a supportive and experienced team consisting of a Team Manager, Senior Practitioner, and six Social Workers. The team is based at One Avenue, Aston, with additional flexible working space available in Stirchley. Free parking is available at both sites.
About You
- Qualified Social Worker with a completed ASYE
- Registered with Social Work England
- Experience working with children and families
- Strong assessment and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
