We’re looking for an experienced Waste & Cleansing Supervisor to join a busy operations team delivering essential frontline services across the borough.
You’ll lead teams responsible for recycling, refuse collection, and street cleansing, ensuring services are delivered efficiently, safely, and to a high standard. This is a hands-on role where you’ll be out in operations as well as managing performance, resources, and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day waste, recycling, and street cleansing operations
- Supervise and support frontline staff, ensuring high performance and compliance
- Monitor Health & Safety standards and operational procedures
- Respond to and resolve customer complaints professionally
- Allocate vehicles, equipment, and agency staff effectively
- Track service performance, costs, and KPIs, producing reports where required
- Work closely with internal teams, councillors, and the public
What We’re Looking For
- Experience supervising teams in waste management, street cleansing, or environmental services
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety regulations
- Proven ability to manage staff performance and operations
- Good organisational and problem-solving skills
- Confident communicator with a customer-focused approach
- Full UK driving licence
