About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Communication & Engagement Officer to join our Families First team.

In this role, you will lead on promoting services, engaging with families and young people, and building strong relationships with community partners. You will play a key part in ensuring families can access the right support and that their voices shape how services are delivered.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver engaging communications across digital, print, and social media
  • Promote Families First services to families, young people, and partner organisations
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders including schools, community groups, and partner agencies
  • Plan and deliver events, workshops, and outreach activities
  • Gather feedback from families and young people to inform service improvements
  • Support internal communications to ensure consistent messaging
  • Monitor and evaluate engagement activity and report on impact
  • Ensure all communications are inclusive, accessible, and culturally sensitive

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience in communications, community engagement, or outreach
  • Can create clear, engaging, and accessible content
  • Is confident building relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Has experience working with families, young people, or communities
  • Is organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Is committed to inclusion, diversity, and community voice

Desirable

  • Experience in local government, education, or the voluntary sector
  • Knowledge of services supporting families and young people
  • Experience running events or campaigns
