About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and experienced HGV Class II Driver to operate council service vehicles and lead a small crew in delivering essential daily routes across Nottingham City. This role plays a key part in maintaining clean, safe, and efficient public services while representing the Council professionally in the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive and operate a Category C (HGV Class II) vehicle safely on assigned routes
- Lead and support a small crew to complete daily service tasks efficiently
- Carry out daily vehicle safety checks and report defects
- Use in-cab systems to record service delivery and incidents accurately
- Ensure all work is completed in line with Health & Safety and road safety regulations
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, customer service, and professionalism when engaging with the public
Requirements
- Valid Category C (HGV Class II) licence and Driver CPC qualification (essential)
- Experience in vehicle safety checks and basic maintenance
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety and road safety practices
- Ability to lead, guide, and motivate a small team
- Competence using in-cab systems or digital reporting tools
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Physically fit and flexible to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and in all weather conditions
Training & Induction
- Full training provided during AM shifts (06:30am – 2:30pm) for the first few weeks
- Induction dates to be confirmed
