About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and organised EHCP Case Officer to join our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) team. You will play a vital role in ensuring that children and young people with additional needs receive the right support through Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), in line with statutory requirements.

This is a rewarding role where you will directly contribute to improving outcomes for children and young people by coordinating services across education, health, and social care.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of EHCPs, ensuring timely completion and review within statutory deadlines
  • Coordinate assessments, annual reviews, and plan amendments
  • Act as the main point of contact for parents, carers, schools, and external professionals
  • Work collaboratively with educational psychologists, health professionals, and social care teams
  • Prepare reports and recommendations for SEND panels and decision-making processes
  • Ensure all records are accurate, up to date, and legally compliant
  • Support dispute resolution processes, including complaints and tribunal cases where required

About You

Essential skills and experience:

  • Experience working in education, SEND, local authority, or case management settings
  • Strong understanding of EHCP processes or similar frameworks
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work with families and professionals
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing deadlines
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and SEND legislation

Desirable:

  • Experience working directly with EHCPs
  • Experience within a local authority SEND team
  • Knowledge of SEND tribunal processes (SENDIST)
  • Relevant qualification in education, social care, or a related field
