Job Details

  1. PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To work independently but under the direction of the Housing Services Manager to:

  • Develop and deliver a review of the Independent Living Services provided by the Council including the redesignation of stock project.
  • Contribute to the review and changes to Lifeline and Out of Hours Services.
  • Assist in the setting up of a successful service level agreement with another Local Authority to deliver property management services to a specific site.
  • Contribute to a review of rents and service charges.
  • Work with the Housing Services and Communities and Project Teams on tenant consultation events.
  • Work on a review of tenancy terms and conditions.

 

2.           ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare initiation documents, project briefs, option appraisals, project plans, project risk registers and specifications.
  • Research options for service delivery including recommendations that contain costings and feasibility assessments.
  • Organize and carry out consultation exercises.
  • Produce information for service users in a variety of formats.
  • Prepare data, in various formats, for key stakeholders, including Senior Officers, Elected Members and contractors.
  • Write or update any required policies & procedures.
  • Set up new ways of working within the Teams as required.
  • Provide training and information to internal staff members on any changes to ways of working.

3.            OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Carry out other Project Officer duties for the Housing Services Team, as may be assigned from time to time.

4.            SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  •   None

5.            FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To raise requisition orders for purchasing from internal and external sources under agreed Council procedures.
  • To ensure that no expenditure is made without due authorization.

6.            RESPONSIBILITY FOR ASSETS AND DATA

  • The post holder will:
  • Be responsible for all equipment issued to perform the duties of the role.
  • Be required to create, maintain and manage appropriate databases in accordance with corporate guidelines.
  • Ensure the secure storage of all project documentation.
  • Ensure quality through comprehensive filing and management of emails and documents.

 

7.            EXTENT OF PUBLIC CONTACT

  • Other teams within and external to RBC Contractors and consultants
  • Liaison and consultation with end users and key stakeholders during project planning, delivery and evaluation.

 

8.            WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT

  • A mixture of site and office based working as required by the Housing Services Manager and/or the Council’s agile working policy.
  • A full current driving license is essential for this post.

 

9.            CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITIES
