Job Details

Work Pattern: Main base – Friargate but may be required to travel to different Council Locations. Remote 2 days per week, 37 hours per week

PAYE Pay Rate: £21.33 Per hour

Main Purpose

To provide professional HR and People Services advice to managers and employees, supporting employee relations, performance management, employment policies and organizational change. The role will ensure policies are applied fairly and consistently while supporting a positive and effective working environment.

Typical Day

  • Provide advice and guidance on employee relations, performance and HR policies.
  • Advise managers on employment law and People Services best practice.
  • Support complex employee relations cases within a unionised environment.
  • Assist with organisational change programmes, including redundancies, service efficiencies and changes to terms and conditions.
  • Support the Employee Relations Lead and People Services Business Partners.
  • Ensure HR processes are applied consistently and in line with legislation.
  • Work collaboratively with managers, employees, trade unions and HR colleagues.
  • Travel to different Council locations when required.

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum CIPD Level 5 / Associate CIPD qualification.
  • Strong knowledge and experience of Local Government HR.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of employment law and People Services best practice.
  • Experience managing employee relations within a unionised environment.
  • Experience supporting organisational change, including redundancies, service efficiencies and changes to terms and conditions.
  • Strong communication and advisory skills.
  • Ability to provide clear, consistent and professional HR advice to managers and employees.
