Job Details

Work Pattern: 37 hours a week, Mon – Fri (9am till 5:30pm), Officer and Site based

PAYE Pay Rate:£28.73 per hour

Main Purpose

To support the day-to-day management of the Council’s Repairs and Maintenance service, ensuring a high-quality, cost-effective and customer-focused service.

Key Duties

  • Manage and supervise tradespeople, contractors and support staff.
  • Plan, priorities and monitor responsive repairs and maintenance works.
  • Carry out pre and post-inspections and maintain accurate records.
  • Undertake property surveys and prepare specifications and tender documentation.
  • Provide technical advice and support to trades and contractors.
  • Monitor contractor performance, costs, materials and work quality.
  • Attend site meetings and liaise with contractors, tenants and Council teams.
  • Manage budgets and ensure financial procedures are followed.
  • Monitor performance against agreed targets and KPIs.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety, building and environmental legislation.
  • Support the management of voids, capital works and property maintenance.
  • Assess and manage risks and ensure appropriate procedures are followed.

Essential Requirements

  • Experience in property maintenance, building management or construction.
  • Experience managing responsive repairs and maintenance.
  • Experience supervising tradespeople and contractors.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety and housing legislation.
  • Experience of contract and budget management.
  • Good communication, organization and IT skills.
  • Ability to manage a busy workload and work independently.
  • Full UK driving license and access to a car for business use.
