Work Pattern: 37 hours a week, Mon – Fri (9am till 5:30pm), Officer and Site based
PAYE Pay Rate:£28.73 per hour
Main Purpose
To support the day-to-day management of the Council’s Repairs and Maintenance service, ensuring a high-quality, cost-effective and customer-focused service.
Key Duties
- Manage and supervise tradespeople, contractors and support staff.
- Plan, priorities and monitor responsive repairs and maintenance works.
- Carry out pre and post-inspections and maintain accurate records.
- Undertake property surveys and prepare specifications and tender documentation.
- Provide technical advice and support to trades and contractors.
- Monitor contractor performance, costs, materials and work quality.
- Attend site meetings and liaise with contractors, tenants and Council teams.
- Manage budgets and ensure financial procedures are followed.
- Monitor performance against agreed targets and KPIs.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety, building and environmental legislation.
- Support the management of voids, capital works and property maintenance.
- Assess and manage risks and ensure appropriate procedures are followed.
Essential Requirements
- Experience in property maintenance, building management or construction.
- Experience managing responsive repairs and maintenance.
- Experience supervising tradespeople and contractors.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety and housing legislation.
- Experience of contract and budget management.
- Good communication, organization and IT skills.
- Ability to manage a busy workload and work independently.
- Full UK driving license and access to a car for business use.
