Job Details

Work Pattern: Monday–Friday, 37.5 hours per week, 9:00am–5:30pm. Hybrid – 3 days per week

 Pay Rate: £60 per hour (This rate is currently advertised but to be confirmed whether its PAYE or Umbrella Rate)

Main Purpose

To carry out housing inspections and enforcement action, ensuring properties meet required housing standards and legislation.

Typical Duties

  • Carry out housing inspections using HHSRS.
  • Investigate housing conditions and hazards.
  • Take enforcement action under relevant housing legislation.
  • Issue Civil Financial Penalties under the Housing Act 2004.
  • Prepare evidence and case files for enforcement action.
  • Deal with landlords, tenants and other stakeholders.
  • Manage cases independently and meet deadlines.
  • Prepare cases for the First-tier Property Tribunal where required.

Essential Requirements

  • Current HHSRS competency.
  • Recent and substantial housing inspection/enforcement experience.
  • Strong knowledge of housing legislation.
  • Hands-on experience issuing Civil Financial Penalties under the Housing Act 2004.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong investigation, report-writing and communication skills.
