Work pattern: 37 hours per week
PAYE Pay Rate:£370.44 per day

Main Purpose

To manage, develop and continuously improve a high-quality social work service across IFD, MASH, EDT and Early Help Hubs, ensuring children and families receive timely and effective support in line with statutory requirements.

The role is responsible for safeguarding children, managing risk, overseeing practice and performance, and ensuring positive outcomes for children and families.

Typical Day

  • Manage and provide leadership across IFD, MASH, EDT and Early Help services.
  • Safeguard children and ensure statutory duties are met.
  • Manage complex cases, risk and professional decision-making.
  • Provide advice and guidance to social work teams.
  • Monitor practice, performance and service quality.
  • Make casework decisions that impact children’s safety and outcomes.
  • Support continuous improvement and effective service delivery.
  • Work closely with Police and multi-agency partners.
  • Attend Cambridgeshire Police Headquarters approximately 3 days per week.
  • Ensure children and families receive timely, effective and appropriate services.

Essential Requirements

  • Senior management experience within Children’s Social Care.
  • Strong experience in safeguarding and managing risk.
  • Experience of MASH, IFD, EDT and/or Early Help services.
  • Strong understanding of statutory social work practice.
  • Proven ability to manage complex cases and professional decision-making.
  • Experience leading and improving social work services.
  • Ability to work effectively with Police and multi-agency partners.
  • Enhanced DBS with Adults & Children’s Barred List.
  • Ability to attend the Police Headquarters approximately 3 days per week.
