Job Title: SEN Case Officer (SEND Caseworker)
Location: Fully Remote
Contract: 6 months (End of April – October)
Day Rate: £280 per day
Role Overview
We are seeking experienced SEN Case Officers to support a local authority in reducing a backlog of Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) work. The role will involve managing a caseload of children and young people with special educational needs, ensuring statutory processes are completed efficiently and in line with legal requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of EHCPs, ensuring compliance with statutory timelines
- Complete and progress overdue annual reviews
- Coordinate and process new EHCP assessments
- Draft, amend, and issue EHCP documentation
- Liaise with schools, parents, and multi-agency professionals
- Handle escalated or complex cases, including complaints where required
- Maintain accurate case records and documentation
Requirements
- Proven experience working as an SEN / SEND Case Officer or Caseworker
- Strong knowledge of EHCP processes and SEND legislation
- Experience with annual reviews and/or new assessments
- Ability to manage a high-volume caseload and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and organisational skills

- Candidates will be assigned workstreams based on experience and preference, but must be willing to undertake full casework responsibilities
