Job Details

To represent the LA at targeted annual reviews within education settings.

 

To scrutinise provision being delivered to the pupil – and the level of funding required to deliver the interventions specified in the EHCP.

 

To advise and guide settings and parents in ensuring that all SEN pupils continue to access mainstream settings where it remains within the best interests of the child/young person.

 

To amend Education, Health & Care Plans ensuring they conform to legal requirements and are clear, comprehensive and helpful. To ensure that placement/provision/transport and arrangements with Social Care and Safeguards, the NHS Trust and other agencies are conducted efficiently.

 

To support the SEND Team in meeting the local performance indicators in completing the Annual Review process within statutory timescales.

 

To challenge schools and settings and alert the SEND Team Manager when schools/settings are not complying with their statutory duties in relation to the completion of Annual Reviews.

 

Quality assure the Review document submitted to the LA to ensure that all appropriate professionals view are sought and recorded and a thorough review of all aspects of the EHCP has been conducted.

 

To respond to parents and families following initial requests through the Annual Review, for information around Personal Budgets.

 

To ensure that the amended EHCP is accurate in describing a personal budget (where appropriate), and health and Social Care provision.

 

To ensure that administrative duties related to Annual Reviews are completed within the appropriate timescales.

 

To liaise with representatives of the Information Advice and Support Service (IASS) where appropriate

 

To complete SEN casework under the guidance of an SEND Officer.

 

To amend EHCP’s at key transition phases.

 

To undertake any other reasonable duty as determined by the SEND Team Manager.

 

These duties are illustrative and not exhaustive. The post holder will be expected to become involved in a range of work to enable the service to respond effectively to the changing requirements of the Council and changes affecting the workforce.

 

Pay : £18.30
