Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced SEND Casework Assistant to provide high-quality administrative support to the SEND Tribunal Team. The successful candidate will assist with the coordination and administration of SEND Tribunal cases, ensuring all documentation, communications, and deadlines are managed effectively.

This role requires strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail, and experience working within an administrative environment, ideally within SEND, education, or a local authority setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the SEND Tribunal Team with the management of ongoing cases.
  • Manage shared inboxes, ensuring emails and enquiries are responded to and allocated appropriately.
  • Maintain calendars and coordinate meetings with families, schools, professionals, and internal teams.
  • Prepare and organise tribunal bundles, ensuring all required documentation is accurate, complete, and submitted within deadlines.
  • Collate information and reports from a range of professionals and agencies.
  • Maintain accurate electronic records and update case management systems.
  • Draft and process correspondence with parents, carers, schools, and external professionals.
  • Support SEND officers and caseworkers with general administrative tasks.
  • Monitor deadlines and ensure actions are completed within required timescales.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in an administrative role, ideally within SEND, education, children’s services, or a local authority environment.
  • Experience managing shared inboxes and calendars.
  • Experience preparing documents, reports, or case files.
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to communicate professionally with families and professionals.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling documentation.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office packages, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience supporting SEND/EHCP processes.
  • Experience preparing tribunal, appeal, or legal documentation bundles.
  • Knowledge of SEND legislation and tribunal processes.
  • Experience working with schools, families, health professionals, or other partner agencies.
