Senior Business Analyst (Systems)

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst with strong systems knowledge to support the analysis phase of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). The successful candidate will be responsible for eliciting, analysing, documenting, and managing business and system requirements while acting as the key liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams.

This role requires an analytical and detail-oriented professional who can work independently in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple concurrent projects, and proactively identify risks, opportunities, and process improvements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in systems implementation, business process analysis, stakeholder management, and data analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead requirements gathering activities through stakeholder workshops, interviews, and analysis sessions.
  • Elicit, analyse, document, and manage business and system requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Produce high-quality documentation including business requirements, functional specifications, process maps, use cases, user stories, and workflow diagrams.
  • Analyse current business processes and design future-state solutions to improve efficiency and service delivery.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, technical teams, vendors, and project teams to ensure requirements are clearly understood and delivered.
  • Support the analysis phase of the SDLC, ensuring requirements are traceable from inception through testing and implementation.
  • Generate and analyse reports and data to support business decision-making and project delivery.
  • Identify project risks, dependencies, gaps, and process improvement opportunities, providing recommendations and solutions.
  • Facilitate stakeholder workshops and presentations to communicate requirements, project progress, and proposed solutions.
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including creation of test scenarios, defect management, and business sign-off activities.
  • Develop and deliver training materials and knowledge transfer sessions where required.
  • Manage multiple workstreams and competing priorities while maintaining high-quality deliverables.
  • Support project planning activities and communicate project status to stakeholders and management teams.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Significant experience as a Business Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, or Senior Business Analyst.
  • Proven experience eliciting and documenting business and system requirements.
  • Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Experience working on systems implementation and business transformation projects.
  • Strong business process analysis, process mapping, and gap analysis skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and workshop facilitation experience.
  • Experience supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and requirements traceability.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in fast-paced delivery environments.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for analysis and reporting.
  • Experience working closely with both business and technical teams.

Desirable Experience

  • SQL skills.
  • Experience within insurance, managed care, healthcare, or regulated industries.
  • Experience supporting customer-facing websites and digital solutions.
  • Experience supporting product recall or operational compliance processes.
  • Project management experience.
  • Experience working with third-party vendors and system suppliers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, Quantitative Analysis, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Relevant Business Analysis certifications (BCS, IIBA, CBAP, PMI-PBA) desirable.
