Senior Business Support Officer

Job Details

The role is to ensure both essential statutory services and Intervention/improvement requirements. Through the overall delivery of strategic direction, delivery and oversight from Director and Corporate Director level it enables the continued delivery of essential statutory services. Not appointing to the post will impact the effectiveness of the Directors and Corporate Director in relation to a range of critical activity. There are also numerous other directorate wide supporting activities that would go unaddressed i.e. recruitment/agency logging tracking and approval process, as well as corporate spent control monitoring and recording.

Part of the role will be to act as the Senior Business Support to the Director for Transformation / Service Improvement, supports the Adult Transformation journey including practical support to the Adult Transformation Team, critical to delivery of the savings target for Adults. Without appointing, the Director will essentially have to operate without or very limited PA or admin support, or we reduce support to other critical activities, meaning Divisional Managers and Directors have to pick up activities, therefore jeopardizing delivery of savings target and transformation activity.

This is in part due additional responsibilities that the team have picked up from committee services.
Delays to implementing the new pathways will cost Adult Services £76,538 per week, therefore there is an invest to save argument to ensure that the required activity happens per week. If the volume of PA and admin support to the Directors, Corporate Director and SMT reduces, it increases the likelihood of delays.
