ULEZ has become a priority for the Council. It is a high-profile case that requires several legal staff working on it full time. This has left gaps in other legal work streams that require attention to prevent negative reputational and financial damage to the Council. This request is for a Senior Corporate Lawyer to provide support to the Head of Service with senior level corporate legal matters. Work across all areas in Legal Services has increased and either cannot be undertaken by (a) existing staff in the team as they do not have capacity or (b) by other permanent staff in Legal Services as they do not have the relevant expertise to deliver the work in line with the client’s expectations or time frames.
