DUTIES

  • This is one of a number of roles responsible for operational delivery and management of the provision of a Payroll Shared Service to customers across schools, corporate West Sussex and external bodies. The role will lead a team of 25-35 staff to deliver efficient and accurate transactional service across all areas of payroll processes and administration.
  • The role will be responsible for ensuring all payroll transactions are processed efficiently while also ensuring the team is appropriately skilled and managed in order to address and respond to a range of complex pay and pensions questions and enquiries to WSCC managers, employees and schools.
  • The post holder will be responsible for effectively developing and managing relationships with key customers across the area of service delivery and for introducing, implementing and monitoring service level agreements. The role will also be responsible for performance monitoring and management and for identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in service delivery.
  • The post holder will possess high level subject matter expertise in running a payroll service, and will therefore be responsible for resolving complex problems across a broad range of issues and subject areas.
  • The role will also be responsible for identifying, developing and managing service improvement and efficiency programmes such as process redesign or development.
  • The postholder will manage and direct day-to-day operations and manage staff in a team or across teams to deliver a service. This will include contributing to the development of the team and its service delivery function, setting targets and planning work, and acting as the overall professional specialist for the area of work, advising and making decisions with a full knowledge and understanding of services, legislation regulations.

£400 daily rate umbrella
