Youth Support and Development Worker

Youth Support and Development Workers are responsible for providing high quality effective and responsive early help and prevention services; encompassing programmes of youth work and targeted interventions that result in tangible improvements to young people’s well-being. All staff are expected to provide services at the times that young people are available; principally after school, evenings and weekends A professional or occupational qualification (e.g. youth work, teaching, social work, or health) is desirable, and applicants should have a clear understanding of evidence based practice, youth work methodology and effective practice in youth participation and children’s rights. Your communication skills, energy and professional approach will enable you to quickly establish positive rapport with young people and stakeholders. With experience in the delivery of tailored interventions, targeted group work and youth work, you will be committed to improving young people’s well-being and addressing concerns such as crime, educational engagement or sexually harmful behaviour. Dynamic, innovative and passionate, you’ll bring your knowledge and understanding of child and adolescent development to the challenge of working with vulnerable children and young people and be able to demonstrate continuing professional development
