The Cheshire East Council Finance team has a full time accountancy assistant vacancy as a result of maternity.

We are looking for agency cover for up to 9 months.

The post is working withing the Schools Finance team providing financial support to schools who purchase the service. This is provided via email, calls, teams meetings and through one in person visit per term.

The support relates to the standard Finance business partner type work in the delivery of the annual cycle of closure of accounts, in-year monitoring, and budget setting work to schools. Experience of providing finance support to managers, year end finance work and budget monitoring is essential.

Generally – the post is hybrid so a mix of office and home working but for this post the ability to be able to drive to schools in Cheshire East in person is essential.

We prefer to have candidates who can come into the office in Crewe, Cheshire on a regular basis (2 -3 times a month) as determined by business need – and to attend the office on a daily basis for the first 4 – 8 weeks for training.

Candidates will ideally be AAT qualified and have experience with Microsoft office products esp Excel and supporting an accounting system.

We would like to hold in-person interviews if possible.

Start date – in the next 2 – 3 weeks (11th-18th May)
