Job Title: Non-Residential Caretaker

Overview

We are seeking a reliable and proactive Non-Residential Caretaker to support the day-to-day upkeep and safety of a public sector site. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining a clean, safe, and well-presented environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out general cleaning of communal areas and facilities
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks and report defects
  • Open and secure the premises as required
  • Monitor the site for health and safety issues
  • Ensure safe use and storage of cleaning materials in line with COSHH regulations
  • Support overall site security and presentation

Requirements

  • Minimum 6 months’ experience in a similar role (caretaking, cleaning, or facilities)
  • Understanding of health and safety procedures, including COSHH
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative
  • Reliable, punctual, and responsible attitude

Desirable

  • Experience working within a council, housing association, or public sector environment
