PAYE Pay Rate: £24.50 per hour

About the Role

Camden Facilities Management is seeking an experienced Air Conditioning & HVAC Engineer to carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), servicing, reactive repairs, fault-finding and minor installation works across corporate buildings, schools and other public-sector properties.

You will work independently across a range of commercial HVAC systems while supporting the wider M&E Operations Team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Service, maintain and repair split, multi-split, VRV/VRF and DX systems.
  • Maintain AHUs, FCUs, heat pumps and ventilation systems.
  • Diagnose faults and replace components including compressors, fan motors, PCBs, sensors and contactors.
  • Carry out refrigerant recovery, leak detection, pressure testing and evacuation in line with F-Gas requirements.
  • Complete PPM and reactive maintenance and identify underlying faults.
  • Carry out AHU inspections, filter and belt changes, coil cleaning and condensate/drain checks.
  • Support maintenance of associated mechanical plant where competent.
  • Record work accurately using a tablet/mobile device and CAFM system.
  • Manage an allocated workload and meet PPM and reactive maintenance targets.
  • Liaise professionally with school staff, building users, contractors and colleagues.
  • Follow all health and safety procedures, including risk assessments and permit-to-work requirements.
  • Maintain the company vehicle, tools and equipment.

Essential Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning.
  • Current F-Gas Category 1 certification.
  • Proven experience with split, multi-split and VRV/VRF systems.
  • Commercial HVAC experience including AHUs, FCUs, ventilation and heat pumps.
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Experience carrying out both PPM and reactive maintenance.
  • Ability to work independently in occupied buildings.
  • Full UK driving license / DVLA Check
  • Confident using tablets/mobile devices and CAFM systems.
