Role Overview
South Tyneside Council is seeking a qualified Plumber to support the installation, maintenance, and repair of water, heating, and drainage systems across council homes and civic buildings. The role involves responsive maintenance, emergency repairs, renovation works, and working collaboratively with other trades to deliver high-quality property services.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out first and second-fix plumbing in domestic and commercial properties.
- Install, maintain, and repair bathrooms, kitchens, heating systems, and drainage services.
- Respond to emergency call-outs including leaks, burst pipes, and blockages.
- Support property refurbishments and full house renovation projects.
- Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety and compliance standards.
- Work closely with other trades to resolve maintenance and property issues.
Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing (or equivalent qualification).
- Previous experience in plumbing repairs and maintenance, ideally within social housing, local authority, or property maintenance environments.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
